Inclusive, High-Impact Grant-making:
Our Strategic Plan’s goal in Community Impact, defined the way that we would steward donor dollars to support high-impact programs in Waco-McLennan County, using the Impact Framework and new guiding Values as guides.
Our Strategic Plan’s goal in Community Engagement, defined the way we would continue to authentically engage community partners, donors, organizations, experts and residents in a meaningful and inclusive way, including through a new volunteer-led, Community Investment Council grant review process. Community Investment Councils (CICs) provide grant application review and funding recommendations for the United Way of Waco-McLennan County. The CICs are responsible for ensuring donor contributions are invested effectively in local programs committed to high-impact outcomes. There are four Community Investment Councils, one to align with each Impact Pillar (focus area): Education, Health, Financial Stability, and Safety Net Services. Together, these goals formed the basis of our new, competitive grant-making process.
