AVANCE, a Spanish word meaning to advance, is an organization that strengthens
at-risk Hispanic families through effective parent education and support
programs. The Parent-Child program provides parents, mostly mothers, with
the opportunity to learn about the physical, social, and emotional development
of children, and their preschoolers, ages 0-3, the chance to learn basic
concepts, language skills, and social competence that will prepare them
for entry into public school.
